Administrative Volunteers at NADFAS
We are always looking for volunteers to help out at NADFAS House.

Currently we are looking for someone interested in helping the Grants Administrator; he/she has to be computer proficient - able to use data bases, and programmes such as Word and Excel.

Help is also needed in the department co-ordinating volunteer activities, and to assist the "mapping"project.

Volunteers usually enjoy the work and getting to know more about NADFAS, but be warned we have to take our share of the routine tasks such as photocopying, or assisting with mailings, or filing and telephone answering!

If you are interested please download and complete a Volunteer Registration Form and return it to:

Christina Briant, NADFAS House, 8 Guilford Street, London WC1N 1DA

Visit the NADFAS website for further details

To the Koestler Trust, This is an organisation which promotes artwork in jails and institutions. There is a national awards scheme, which attracts thousands of entries and for which we give prizes for young offenders working in pastels. There is also a wonderful exhibition each year at the Royal Festival Hall, curated by interested parties - last year it was done by a group of female inmates and this year will be done by magistrates.

This is the work of one of last year's prize winners.

This year the Royal Festival Hall's exhibition is from the 21st September to 20th November 2011.... make a note in your diaries, you'll be amazed at the variety and standard of work.

Action Space is another project we support; they held a workshop for disadvantaged adults, and an exhibition of their work, as part of the Olympic Open Week-end."

"Members of the public were invited to come and work alongside Action Space artists to get creative with sculpture, video, light projection and drawing to create an atmospheric installation

Obituaries
Sadly, this year we have lost two stalwarts of our London Area; Valerie Carboni, who was a founder member of Bromley Evening DFAS, and who ran a multitude of very successful study courses for the area; and Yolande Phillips, joint Chairman of Hillingdon society. We shall miss them both.
